Our programme includes a lot of different genres. There’s jazz, of course, but also music at - or well beyond – the boundaries of jazz. To help you find something to your taste, we have grouped some of the artists here according to style or influence.
Real jazzcats will definitely get their money's worth at the Grand Place, but pure and uncut jazz will also be abundantly present at the other stages. Some suggestions: Francesco Turrisi, Tassin/Hermia/Joris, Aleph Quintet, Peter Hertmans Trio & Ataneres Ensemble, Wajdi Riahi Trio, Le Monde Merveilleux de Pépito & Strings, Stéphane Galland & Jeroen Van Herzeele, Adinda Hertmans Quintet, Orson Claeys, Marco Marcelletti, BLEND/REACT.
Adventurers and hipsters who dig the new Belgian jazz movement - which, by the way, is bursting with talent - can indulge themselves with the likes of Early Life Forms, Incandescence, bodies, MOBILHOME, Kosmo Sound, Silke Hamers & Band
The cool cats that are more into soul, funk, R'n'B and incredible vocalists will get their fix with Adja, Jazz Sanusi, Jamilah Barry, Amy Gadiaga, Helena Casella, Unfinished Business, Kristo, BBUNG, Marylène Corro.
B-boys and -girls, or all those who like to dance to pumping Hip Hop and break-beats, should not miss C-RHYMS and FRONTAL in Billie.
Ravers and clubbers who enjoy hard tight beats, hard-hitting drums, or electronic sounds, you’d better mark The Brums, HYPERCONTENT!, Bandler Ching, VAAGUE, Bruant.
World travellers and lovers of exotic sounds and world music should definitely check out Aleph Quintet, Orson Claeys, Peixe e Limão, Ashtabiez, Haroun Iqbal, Far Fare, Remork & Karkaba. You can even get really into the groove at the 'Salsa Matinee concert' with Banda Bruselas and Charanga Bruselas on Sunday noon.
For old school jazz, a dash of blues and a sultry New Orleans atmosphere, go check Hot Swing de Malines, Dyslexic Bazz Jand, NO Pareto, Red Jackets Jazzband, Magic Jazz Band, Tiny Funk Liberation or Krewe du Belge, among others.
And that's just some of the outdoor programme. The indoor programme is equally diverse, but with the added charm of a boiling jazz club or cosy bar.
