This Ghent-based pianist and composer mixes modern jazz with melodies from the Middle East and the rhythmic power of hip hop. After completing his studies, Orson Claeys was picked up by the renowned label Sdban Ultra and soon found himself performing on major stages. With his debut EP ‘Odyssey to Self’ (2024), he confirmed his status as one of the most exciting new voices in Belgian jazz. His layered compositions and adventurous playing style earned him a place in Klara's Tien Twintigers in 2025 and the jury prize at Brussels Jazz Vanguard. An appearance at the Brussels Jazz Weekend was only fitting.
