To delight your ears, the Violin Jazz Band brings student violinists from the jazz department of the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles together with their teacher, Françoise Derissen, in a unique and rarely explored formula in the jazz world: a string ensemble that draws on its repertoire different periods of jazz history.

A guitarist and a double bass player joined the violins to interpret arrangements by students of the CRB arrangement course, among other things.

A string ensemble naturally offers a perfect balance in timbre, range and sound volume. Thanks to this balance, we can make the chords of jazz sound beautiful through our repertoire and each of us finds his place as an improviser. And of course the groove is also at the rendezvous.
