A Brussels institution for many years, Café Flamingo, with its large windows, high columns and elegant Art Deco ceilings, is a true cosmopolitan gathering place in the heart of the city. On weekends, Flamingo comes alive with music events, live performances and DJ's, while you can enjoy the best beers and cocktails. This year during the Brussels Jazz weekend we are presenting Freddy Starks & The Cosy Band. Freddy Starks is a well-known sideman in the world of funk and soul, he toured with Johnny “Guitar” Watson for many years and has performed with artists such as Tina Turner, and he is a great frontman in his own right. With his own band Cosy, they play through every town and festival in Europe, making the people dance like never before on vintage and new funky tunes from the soul of Black America.
